Anchor Institutions – Launching a framework for stronger communities

Posted:

A framework to help organisations to build stronger, healthier communities will be launched at a landmark event from Cheshire and Merseyside Integrated Care System.

The Anchor Institutions Framework has been developed in collaboration with colleagues and community champions from across the region, identifying actions which can make a difference in improving people’s health and wellbeing and supporting local economies.

The first organisation to sign up to the framework will be NHS Cheshire and Merseyside, whose recently appointed designate Chair, Raj Jain, will make a formal commitment during the event. Raj is passionate about addressing health inequalities and is a founding member of the NHS North West Black, Asian and Minority Ethnic Assembly. He will share his vision for the sub-region and will be urging organisations to follow the ICB’s lead in adopting the framework.

Also speaking will be NHS Cheshire and Merseyside designate Chief Executive Graham Urwin, who will describe how this work is an integral part of delivering the vision for the region.

The event will offer the opportunity for organisations to sign up to the framework and help to make a long term difference for our local communities.
