Landmark day as Merseyside hospital records zero Covid patients

Liverpool Echo, 30th April – More than a year on from its first admission, Southport Hospital now has zero Covid-19 patients. At the peak of admissions in January, 157 patients at the hospital were infected with the virus. Around the same time, a high point of 14 patients being treated on ventilation beds was also reached.

Merseyside regional mass vaccination centre hits 100,000 landmark

St Helens Star, 6th May – More than 100,000 vaccinations have taken place at the regional mass vaccination centre based in Saints stadium over the past four months. Merseyside’s only Covid-19 Mass Vaccination Centre, which opened its doors in January, is run by St Helens and Knowsley Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust, and can vaccinate more than 2,000 people each
