David Parr is the Senior Responsible Officer for Halton. He is responsible for ensuring the aims and objectives of the One Halton Programme are met, including the implementation of the One Halton Place Based Plan (2019-2024).
I believe all of us, regardless of where we live, or who we are, deserve the same opportunity to live a long, healthy life. There are a number of factors that impact on people’s wellbeing, including health, employment, housing, education, environment and community safety. We know that inequalities remain in Halton, with the poorest people in Halton dying at a younger age than others living in wealthier areas.
By NHS Partners working collaboratively with other organisations like local councils, fire, police, housing associations and third sector organisations, I believe we can start to tackle some of the issues locally and make improvements people across Cheshire and Merseyside. By getting it right, we will prevent people becoming unwell; keep people living longer and healthier lives in their own homes; and make sure that the right services are in the right place for those who really need them.
I find cycling and walking help with both physical and mental health. I also try to eat and drink healthily but find this more difficult after a tough working week. I am also lucky to have the support of my family and friends.
